We made it to Ghana safe and sound. I have not been able to post because I just got internet connection today. I am actually borrowing the connection until I can get to the market to buy an access card.
Here's my update:
The airplane was extremely crowded with hundreds of pieces of carry on luggage. The overhead compartments were so full that they took my carry on and stowed it under the plane as I entered. It was unexpected but I survived. I enjoyed the television screens on the airplane that charted the flight path and progress across the Atlantic Ocean. The flight was just over 10 hours direct from JFK to Accra. Arrival at Accra Airport was exciting. We landed at 11:08 on June 27th. We exited the plane by stairs directly onto the tarmac. We took a VERY short ride to the terminal. It was actually pretty funny since the terminal was only about 200 yards away from the plane I was able to take a quick picture of a "Akwaaba" (welcome) sign as we entered. Baggage claim did not turn out the way I expected. One bag is still missing. I have been hounding Rebecca (back in NJ) with texts asking her to contact Delta. Delta said the bag arrived today at 11:30....but a trip to the airport today turned up no bag!

The school is wonderful! Great things are happening here. The children are loved and cared for by an amazing staff. I hope to post pictures of the students soon.
